The break in occurred in the early hours of Sept. 16, when shortly after 3 a.m. police responded to an activated alarm at the travel agency. When officers arrived, they found the front window of the store shattered in what they reported appeared to be an attempted burglary. A witness told police that two men wearing gray hoodies had run from the scene before police arrival. Officers were unable to locate them during a canvas of the area. The investigation is still on going.
On Tuesday, Sept. 15, about 9:45 a.m., a resident reported that he had been struck by a car coming out of a driveway while riding his bicycle on Friday, Sept. 11, along the sidewalk of Lexington Avenue.
The man said he did not initially report the incident but decided to do so because he had learned he had a fractured wrist.
On Thursday, Sept. 17, about 7:30 a.m. a resident reported to police that several items had been stolen from her car that had been parked on Main Street overnight. She reported that a digital camera, phone charger, perfume and personal papers were missing. The car was reportedly left unlocked.
Shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday, a motorist reported that his vehicle had been damaged by a hit-and-run driver as he was exiting the northbound Saw Mill River Parkway at Route 133. The complainant described the vehicle that struck his as a white 4-door Chevy sedan that continued north on the parkway.
